Transformational Leadership - Wines & Spirits Business

Competitive Advantage through Culture Change

This organisation is an extremely successful European producer and distributor of Wines & Spirits. The company has sponsored many change initiatives as befits its pre-eminence in the industry.

Intervention

Initially, the intervention was to work with a newly formed top team who had specific strategic objectives regarding the provision of the quality and cost of raw materials to the parent business.

The new management team had several challenges and decided to commit to transform their existing business culture into a culture that was required to drive and lead change in the future.

Their efforts, coupled with the efforts and initiative of the parent company, were central in achieving the results required in the time frame.

Similar changes are continued with other divisions of the same business.

Benefits of a Change in Transformational Leadership

  • A firm commitment was demonstrated to understand how the Leadership Team of the business could drive change.
  • Through a series of Workshops, the Top Team applied many change management tools to take to the next level to drive through needed changes.
  • Leadership and 'Living the Values' became the common language.
  • Development Centres were created to ensure that change Leaders acquired the understanding and commitment to deliver competence in change mastery.
  • Many of the learning’s from this intervention have continued into other divisions, with the Leadership focus becoming the central driver to transforming business
